Salome

Sequential illustrations of Richard Strauss' one act opera, Salome.Adapted from Oscar Wilde's play of the same name, Princess Salome lusts after Jokanaan (John the Baptist). The tale depicts the depravity of obsession and abuse as she vies for his unreciprocated love, ultimately culminating in his beheading at her request.The style of this project was influenced by artists including Aubrey Beardsley, whom Wilde commissioned to illustrate Salome, and Norman Lindsay.2025

King Henry IV

RISO-printed book depicting William Shakespeare's King Henry IV, Part One: Following the journey of Prince Hal and his plan to prevail over his youthful wildness by transforming into a dignified prince, making the feat all the more impressive for the King and their subjects to witness.As is in Shakespeare's text, this series explores the gains and losses of war, honour, masculinity, and adulthood.I was much inspired by the Victorian Shakespeare Illustrated Archive for this project.2026
